Did Robert Saleh Reveal Titans' NFL Draft Plans amid Jeremiyah Love Rumors?

Scott PolacekApr 6, 2026

The Tennessee Titans have the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft and have been consistently connected to Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, but new head coach Robert Saleh is keeping an open mind.

"Through my lens, whether you call it playmaker or not, I think more game changer," he said when discussing what type of player the Titans are looking for with that pick, per Jim Wyatt of the team's official website.

"Edge rushers are playmakers, too," Saleh said. "When you are drafting that high … you are looking at: Who can change the game in one play? And, edge rushers can change the game in one play. (Jeremiyah) Love is a very talented young man and he can change it in one play. There's receivers who can change it in one play.

"Right now, we need guys and we need to develop guys currently on our roster who can change the game in one play and when you are looking at all these guys from a consistency standpoint, who can flip the game on its head? Edge rushers can close it, and skill guys can end it."

Despite that perspective, Love was the No. 4 overall pick in the latest mock draft from B/R's NFL Scouting Department.

Wyatt noted Saleh has typically deferred to general manager Mike Borgonzi when it comes to draft strategy even though the coach has also been "involved in the process."

Borgonzi previously said he plans to take the "best available player" with that top-five selection, which is a comment up for interpretation. That could mean Love, but it could also mean Ohio State pass-rusher Arvell Reese, an offensive lineman or another pass-rusher.

There is also Saleh's apparent love for the current running back room to consider.

"I love our backfield, I love our running back room right now," the coach said. "... I look at our running back room as one of the better ones in football."

The Titans could use more offensive playmakers surrounding quarterback Cam Ward, who was the No. 1 overall pick of last year's draft. Whether Ward can live up to expectations will go a long way toward determining the long-term outlook of the franchise.

Perhaps that will impact the overall draft strategy, but Saleh seems open to taking the best "game changer" available at No. 4 overall.

So other teams are at least aware of that strategy leading up to the draft.
