Dawn Staley Hasn't Heard From Geno Auriemma After Viral UConn-South Carolina Sideline Video
South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley was asked if she's heard from UConn head coach Geno Auriemma following their viral altercation at the end of Friday's Final Four game, and she told reporters that she hasn't.
"But let's keep it UCLA, them winning the national championship. Again, I will address all of that at another time," Staley added. "It's not this weekend. We're not gonna dampen UCLA's day with it."
For the second straight year, South Carolina lost in the national championship game, this time falling 79-51 to UCLA in Sunday's NCAA Women's Tournament final.

Staley knows this feeling all too well, so she had a succinct assessment of her team's performance against the Bruins.
"We just didn't have it today," Staley told reporters. "We tried, but we just didn't have it today, and they were the better team today. So, really, congratulations to them."
South Carolina was held to 29 percent shooting from the field in Sunday's loss. The team trailed 36-23 at halftime but fell behind by as many as 35 points in the second half against a stifling UCLA defense. Junior guard Tessa Johnson led the team with 14 points while freshman guard Agot Makeer added 11 points off the bench, but they were the only players on the team to score in double figures.
Staley likened Sunday's game to last year's 82-59 loss to UConn in the national championship.
"It kinda felt like the same thing," she said, adding that the Bruins "out-worked" and "out-executed" the Gamecocks. "… We just don't have it today… It was a direct reflection of what they did to us."
