The race, which features three-year-old horses, is run on a dirt track at a distance of 1 1/8 miles, and the purse is $500,000.
It's part of the Road to the Kentucky Derby, with the winner receiving 100 points and clinching a spot in the 20-horse field.
Seven horses entered the event, with two apiece trained by trainers Bob Baffert and Doug O'Neill. Baffert entered Saturday with the most wins by a trainer in this event with nine.

The Santa Anita Derby was one of three races on Saturday that offered 100 points to the winner. The Bluegrass at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky was one, and the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct in New York was the other.
The 152nd Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 2 at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
