New NFL Mock Draft with Surprise Jeremiyah Love, Carnell Tate Landing Spots from Nick Shook
Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love and Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate were both selected early in the latest mock draft from NFL.com's Nick Shook.
Love was projected to be drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 3 overall pick, while the Cleveland Browns added Tate with the No. 6 selection in Shook's mock on Thursday.
Here are the projected top 10 picks in the mock draft:
- Las Vegas Raiders: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana
- New York Jets: David Bailey, LB, Texas Tech
- Arizona Cardinals: Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
- Tennessee Titans: Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio State
- New York Giants: Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State
- Cleveland Browns: Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
- Washington Commanders: Caleb Downs, S, Ohio State
- New Orleans Saints: Rueben Bain Jr., LB, Miami
- Kansas City Chiefs: Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
- Cincinnati Bengals: Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
Love is coming off a stellar junior season with the Fighting Irish, finishing No. 3 in Heisman Trophy voting.
He rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns in 12 games, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. Love also caught 27 passes for 280 yards and three scores.
While the Cardinals have more pressing needs heading into the draft other than running back, they may still choose to select the 20-year-old.
"Sure, this team could use a blue-chip defender in a class filled with them, but those who watched the Cardinals closely in recent years know their chances of winning were tied heavily to the production of their run game," Shook wrote.
It wouldn't be a major surprise if the Browns chose to add Tate at No. 6, as they've already met with him.
He wrapped up a strong 2025 campaign with the Buckeyes, hauling in 51 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 appearances.
"The latest product of Wide Receiver U, Tate is the best contested-catch maker in this class," Shook wrote. "That's a skill that will translate immediately at the next level, and it's one the Browns desperately need as they continue to wade through the swamp of quarterback uncertainty."
Love was the No. 4 overall pick in the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department, while Tate was similarly selected by the Browns at No. 6.
The 2026 NFL draft will begin on April 23.
