Backstage WWE Rumors on Bron Breakker, El Grande Americano and More

WrestleMania 42 season is in full effect in WWE, and the rumor mill surrounding top stars, rivalries and potential matchups is moving at a rapid pace.

What is the latest on Bron Breakker and his return to the squared circle? Will the battle of the El Grande Americanos take place on the grand stage on April 18-19? What has happened to Royce Keys, who debuted for WWE and then disappeared?

Bron Breakker Health Update

Bron Breakker will not appear on the WrestleMania 42 card, but that does not mean he is not cleared to compete.

Dave Meltzer reported for F4WOnline.com that The Badass is cleared, but WWE has opted not to rush his match with Seth Rollins, instead giving the rivalry time to build properly.

If that is the case, it is a welcome change of pace from the creative team, which has made some rash decisions on this road to WrestleMania 42.

Breakker vs. Rollins is a contest with a backstory that should be a high-profile match on a major premium live event, not one just thrown on the 'Mania card two weeks out.

That it is also the program that should launch Breakker into the main event scene permanently is another reason not to rush the booking.

It will be interesting to see if Breakker appears at WrestleMania, potentially following Rollins' match with Gunther, or if WWE holds off his return until the Raw after, when the journey to The Visionary vs. his protege can officially begin.

Latest on Original El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano

For the longest time, it appeared as though the battle between El Grande Americano and the Original El Grande Americano would be a part of the WrestleMania undercard.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, though, that match is now being saved for AAA.

That is another excellent creative decision from WWE. The OG Americano was not nearly as over as he was before his injury, and the other is a huge babyface in Mexico.

So why continue booking a story on Raw that was not connecting with the audience when both were incredibly over south of the border and would likely do big business for AAA?

Let Ludwig Kaiser's version of the character, a hero to the fans of that promotion, beat Chad Gable's original version, unmask him and move on. It will benefit everyone.

Royce Keys Update

Ibou of Self Made Pro reported that WWE officials have finally figured out how to debut Royce Keys on the main roster.

Keys, formerly Powerhouse Hobbs in All Elite Wrestling, debuted as part of the men's Royal Rumble match in January but has not appeared on WWE TV since. He has been a guest on Stephanie McMahon's podcast, but there has been no sign of the newcomer since.

While the report does not detail how Keys will launch his main roster run, the report that WWE at least has a plan is more encouraging than anything else that has (or has not) come out regarding it.

A post-WrestleMania push that sees him build momentum and develop into a challenger for the Intercontinental or United States Championship would do wonders for Keys.
