Allsports Commentary: Brampton Majors retain Mann Cup Title
Many of you out there searching for sports news or sports on the web may not be aware that the Brampton Majors flew out to New Westminster, BC to try to retain their Mann Cup Championship title.
The series was about as even as it could possibly get, going all seven games, with four of those games going into overtime. With all of the extra time games won by Brampton.
Game seven was no exception, after trailing for most of the game, Brampton tied it up with 15 seconds left on the game clock to force overtime. In the extra period, the Brampton Excelsiors were the only team to find the mesh, scoring twice for a 9-7 victory to retain their Mann Cup title.
That’s two titles in a row now for the Brampton club. A three peat though may be a pretty tough act to follow as allsports is hearing whispers that many of the boys may hang it up after this year. Many of these young men are starting to have families of their own and would like to spend time with them.
This is the way it should be, Congratulations boys you did the city proud yet again.
