NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Houston CB Latrell McCutchin Sr.

Daniel HarmsApr 16, 2026

Latrell McCutchin Sr. looks the part of an NFL boundary corner with his physical playstyle, length, and frame.

The improvement from his first season at Houston to 2025 was noticable and he found himself around the football more; the ball production backs that up. A better athlete than you'd think, the former 3-star recruit and transfer from Oklahoma and USC more than trippled his pass breakups from 2024 with ten as a senior while racking up 51 tackles (38 solo), three tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced and one recovered fumble.

Dan has covered the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL Draft since 2019 while contributing for RGR Football. Most recently, he spent the 2025 draft cycle at The Draft Network and is entering his first season in our scouting department.

Where He Wins

1 of 4
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: NOV 29 Houston at Baylor

— McCutchin physically attacks the catchpoint and mirrors underneath routes in man coverage with impressive athleticism.

— Best from a press alignment, he can use his length and jam to re-route receivers and throw off play timing.

— Has a quick downhill trigger and flashes the ability to stack and shed in the run game.

Areas of Improvement

Arizona v Houston

— His route recognition and zone instincts are still developing, and put him behind route breaks and throws in off coverage.

— The 6'2", 191-pound corner lacks recovery speed when stacked vertically and resorts to grabbing and pulling.

— Struggles locating the ball with his back turned and the ball production shows it.

— A willing run game participant, but he's a poor tackler who lunges and dives at ball carriers.
