Tiffany Stratton Beats Giulia for 1st Career WWE Women's US Title on SmackDown
Tiffany Stratton defeated Giulia on Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown to win the Women's United States Championship for the first time.
Stratton and Giulia have been at odds in recent weeks, which led to a singles bout between Tiffany and Giulia's tag team partner, Kiana James, on the March 13 edition of SmackDown.
Despite Giulia getting involved and attempting to cost Stratton the match, Tiffy was victorious, which set up a non-title match against Giulia two weeks later.
Giulia won the match, but it wasn't without controversy, as James was heavily involved and provided the distraction that allowed The Beautiful Madness to prevail.
Stratton had to earn a rematch, and she did so by beating Jordynne Grace in a No. 1 contender's match on the go-home episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania 42.
Over the course of her two U.S. title reigns totaling over 200 days, it can be argued that Stratton was Giulia's toughest challenge yet.
A former WWE women's champion, NXT women's champion and women's Money in the Bank ladder match winner, Stratton has already accomplished a ton during her relatively short career.
However, Giulia has quickly risen through the WWE ranks in her own right on the heels of a highly successful career in Japan.
After signing with WWE in 2024, Giulia won the NXT Women's Championship just months later, and since getting called up to the main roster last year, she has won the women's United States title twice.
Friday's match was a clash between two of the best all-around talents in the women's division with a meaningful prize hanging in the balance.
Stratton won the match and the Women's United States Championship, but a rematch could be in the cards in the near future.
