Joe Burrow 'Excited' for Chance to Compete for Gold Medal in Flag Football at 2028 LA Olympics
Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow is looking forward to the opportunity to compete for a gold medal in flag football at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
"When this got announced, I was pretty excited about it," Burrow told TMZ Sports.
"The opportunity to win a gold medal, you know, that's something that I've thought about a moment like that for a long time -- since I was a kid," he added. "I think it will be something very special."
Burrow has repeatedly expressed his desire to play flag football at the Games since the International Olympic Committee voted to approve it as an Olympic sport in Oct. 2023.
The three-time Pro Bowl passer is currently set to participate in the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football Classic, serving as a captain alongside Tom Brady, Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels.
Burrow was limited to just eight starts during the 2025 season due to a toe injury, but looked sharp when healthy.
He completed 66.8 percent of his throws for 1,809 yards and 17 touchdowns compared to five interceptions, averaging 7.0 yards per attempt. The Bengals owned a 5-3 record with Burrow available, but went just 1-8 without him.
