While NFL free agency and the draft are at the forefront of the football world, fans should may not want to miss Saturday's inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic.

The three-team event will help showcase the sport of flag football, which will make its Olympic debut in Los Angeles in 2028. Former NFL stars, such as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, will participate, along with current NFL players and the U.S. men's national flag football team.

Saturday's tournament will be many fans' first glimpse of high-level competitive flag football—and that's the point. With the sport gaining a global foothold and set to become an Olympic event, now is the perfect time to make football fans familiar with it.

The NFL is fully on board, allowing many of its top stars and coaches to participate. The inclusion of the reigning IFAF Flag Football World Champion U.S. team will help showcase how NFL players and skill sets can (or perhaps don't) translate to the flag game.

Fans familiar with the flag team will get to see stars such as Darrell Doucette III, Velton Brown Jr., Isaiah Calhoun, and Jamie Kennedy.

"There's a lot of talent out there on the field. There are a lot of guys who are gonna want to go out there and perform really well," Brady said, per Tyler Dragon of USA Today. "I love having Team USA involved, too. Because I think they are gonna bring out the best in us."

Fans tuning in to see NFL stars try their hand at flag football won't be disappointed either.

Brady and Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Hurts will captain a Team Founders squad that includes the likes of Alvin Kamara, Rob Gronkowski, Antoine Winfield Jr., and DeVonta Smith. Team Wildcats will be captained by Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and Cincinnati Bengals signal-caller Joe Burrow. It will feature stars like Saquon Barkley, Davante Adams, Jalen Ramsey, and DeAndre Hopkins.

Social-media stars Logan Paul and IShowSpeed will also compete for Team Wildcats, while former pro boxer Terence Crawford will be on Team Founders. Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton will helm Team Founders, while San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan will lead Team Wildcats.

Will either NFL squad have what it takes to hang with the U. S. national team? That's the big question heading into Saturday. Many current NFL players have expressed interest in competing for an Olympic gold medal in flag football, and Brady hasn't even ruled it out.

"I would never say never," Brady said on Good Morning America (h/t Natasha Dye of People.com).

However, there's logic in sticking with the players who have been playing flag football at the highest level for years. We'll see how they stack up against NFL talent on Saturday.

The tournament will feature modified Olympic rules with five-versus-five play and 15-minute halves on a 50' by 25' field. The three 12-player teams will face off in round-robin play with the top two squads advancing to the championship game.

Comedians Kevin Hart and Druski will host the tournament, while Fox analysts Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen will call the action. Newly minted Hall of Famers Drew Brees and Larry Fitzgerald will serve as commissioners.
