
Mark DeRosa Got Good-Luck Message from USA Hockey Legend Mike Eruzione Ahead of WBC Final
Team USA manager Mark DeRosa received a message from United States hockey icon Mike Eruzione ahead of a matchup with Venezuela in the 2026 World Baseball Classic final.
Eruzione sent DeRosa an email wishing him good luck prior to Tuesday's WBC final, per MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

Eruzione served as the captain for the U.S. hockey team during the squad's "Miracle on Ice" gold medal victory at the 1980 Winter Olympics.
After USA hockey was able to capture gold once again at the 2026 Olympics, players arrived to the WBC final wearing game-used hockey jerseys from the national team.
Aaron Judge wore an Auston Matthews jersey and Bryce Harper was spotted in a Matthew Tkachuk sweater, while Pete Crow-Armstrong wore a Jack Hughes jersey.
Team USA previously secured a WBC title in 2017, but fell to Japan in the 2023 championship game.
Now, the United States will look to win the tournament again while facing a Venezuela team filled with MLB talent including Ronald Acuña Jr., Luis Arraez, Gleyber Torres and Eugenio Suarez.
Team USA and Venezuela are set to face off on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
