Miller a Reliable Option for Steelers
The 33-year-old has never been the league's most prolific pass-catching tight end, but his durability has been a major asset to the Steelers during the past 10 seasons.
Over the course of his career, the two-time Pro Bowler has never missed more than two games in a single season. He's appeared in 16 games on six separate occasions, including the 2014 campaign.
During that span, Miller has emerged as a safety blanket for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. While Miller hasn't tallied fewer than 40 receptions in a season since 2006, his 761 receiving yards in 2014 represented the third most of his career.
This season, Miller has notched 39 catches for 390 yards and one touchdown.
Operating in a Steelers offense replete with weapons such as Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton, Miller's ability to pick up chunks of yardage on short and intermediate routes has emerged as an invaluable facet of Pittsburgh's operation.
