Paralympian Credits 'Revolutionary' ChatGPT for Silver Medal Win After 6-Month Training Plan
Paralympian Maksym Murashkovskyi sang the praises of ChatGPT after winning silver in the biathlon at the 2026 Winter Paralympics.
"For the past six months, I have been training with ChatGPT," he said, per The Athletic's Sam Joseph. "It was not only tactics. It was half of my training plan, motivation, etc. So it was a huge volume of all of my training."
Calling the AI chatbot a "revolutionary technology," Murashkovskyi added that it served as his coach, psychologist and doctor at points leading up to the Paralympics.
Murashkovskyi nonetheless downplayed the likelihood of an AI such as ChatGPT fully replacing human personnel anytime soon.
With Vitaliy Trush serving as his guide, the Ukrainian posted a time of 33:41.1 in the vision impaired event. He beat out compatriot Dmytro Suiarko by 10 seconds to earn a second-place finish. This was his first medal in the Paralympics.
