Newest Giants Rumors Reveal Kayvon Thibodeaux Trade Price Ahead of Contract Year
Kayvon Thibodeaux is entering the final season of his contract with the New York Giants, and the team reportedly may trade him before he gets the chance to finish that deal.
Ian O'Connor of The Athletic reported Sunday trading the pass-rusher is "a 50-50 proposition" since "the Giants think he's a pretty damn good football player despite his declining production" and would likely need "a late second-round pick or high third" to make the move.
While trading the Oregon product would help New York get something back in return before he potentially leaves next offseason anyway, it could always keep him and hopes he takes another step under new head coach John Harbaugh.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Giants selected Thibodeaux with the No. 5 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft, and he entered the NFL with plenty of expectations after he was an All-American with the Ducks.
It seemed like he would live up to those expectations when he notched 50 tackles, 11.5 sacks, four passes defended and three forced fumbles in just his second season in the league. That it came after he finished fourth in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting the previous year suggested even bigger things to come with more experience.
But that has not been the case.
Thibodeaux saw his production drop to 28 tackles and 5.5 sacks in his third season before he posted career-lows with 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks last season. Durability was something of a concern as well considering he played 12 games in 2024 and 10 games in 2025.
At this point, the Giants and other possible suitors have to decide how valuable Thibodeaux's potential is compared to his actual production.
He is just 25 years old, isn't that far removed from being a top-five pick and proved in his second season he can finish with double-digit sacks. However, his production has also consistently decreased in recent years right as his future is a topic of consideration.
Perhaps a change of scenery could help him unlock some of that potential, but it might take a second- or third-round pick to make a trade happen.
