LA Marathon 2026 Route, Course Map, Times, Road Closures and Event Details

On Sunday, runners from all over the globe will take part in the Los Angeles Marathon. The weekend will actually feature multiple events, though the 26.2-mile trek through Los Angeles is the main attraction.

The race will weave through many of L.A.'s communities and past many well-known landmarks before coming to a finish on Santa Monica Boulevard. While runners will enjoy cooler morning temperatures and gorgeous scenery for much of the race, things will be heating up by the end.

"Just as you approach the postcard final leg, the course sharply turns around and you spend the last 4 miles backtracking along a grueling, hot, concrete hellscape (sorry Century City)," Noah Haggerty of The Los Angeles Times wrote.

No marathon is particularly easy to run, but with weather expected to reach the mid-80s by Sunday afternoon, the L.A. Marathon will be a challenge. It's one last year's men's and women's winners, Matt Richtman and Tejinesh Gebisa Tulu, met head-on.

Thousands of competitors will look to join the marathon's long list of winners. Those looking for a more manageable challenge may opt for Saturday morning's L.A. 5K or Sunday's Charity Half Marathon.
