Alysa Liu Warns Fans 'Don't Get Scammed' by Fake IG Accounts After Viral Olympics Performance
American figure skater Alysa Liu warned fans in a Monday Instagram story that her only official social media accounts are her Instagram @alysaxliu and her TikTok @frigouscigous.
"This is my only Instagram account," Liu wrote on her story. "Heard there were some accounts pretending to be me, hope yall aren't falling for em lol don't get scammed. & the only other social media account I got is my one tiktok acc."
Liu had fewer than 220,000 followers on Instagram prior to participating in the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.
She now has 7 million followers on Instagram and 2.9 million followers on TikTok following her historic performance in Milan.
The 20-year-old became the first American woman to claim figure skating gold since 2006 with a career-best overall score capped off by her free skate to Donna Summer's "MacArthur Park Suite."
Liu is set to compete again later this month when she works to defend her 2025 world title in Czechia. She is on the entry list for the 2026 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, which are set to take place in Prague from March 24 to 29.
