Lindsey Heaps Goal Highlights USWNT's Win Over Argentina in 2026 SheBelieves Cup, Full Standings

The United States Women's National Team opened its SheBelieves Cup tournament play Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Argentina in Nashville, powered by an opening goal from Lindsey Heaps.

Four teams are competing in this year's tournament — the USWNT, Canada, Argentina and Colombia — with each nation facing one another across three match days in the round-robin format.

Canada began the day with a 4-1 win over Colombia to kick off the tournament.

Heaps opened the scoring for the USWNT in the 19th minute, ripping a powerful shot into the upper left corner from the top of the box to give the U.S. a 1-0 lead over Argentina.

In the second half, Jaedyn Shaw converted an assist from Heaps in the 56th minute, settling the pass just inside the box before firing a shot into the far corner to double the USWNT's lead.

The USWNT will face Canada in Columbus, Ohio, on March 4 before closing out the SheBelieves Cup against Colombia on March 7 in Harrison, New Jersey.
