Jey Uso was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant or assailants before WWE SmackDown began on Friday evening, 24 hours before the start of Elimination Chamber.

WWE posted video of the attack's aftermath 10 minutes after the show. A host of people surrounded him, with everyone confused and wondering who was responsible.

SmackDown then started from Louisville's KFC Yum! Center with scenes of Uso exiting the arena in an ambulance after the attack:

Jacob Fatu was seen entering the ambulance right before it drove away while angrily pointing at SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis and telling him to find out who attacked Uso.

Uso, of course, was scheduled to be one of six participants in the men's Elimination Chamber match on Saturday from Chicago. The winner will challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Speaking of which, McIntyre staunchly denied involvement in the attack during a promo immediately after Uso was taken away from the arena. An enraged Cody Rhodes, one of the Elimination Chamber participants, then confronted McIntyre and challenged him to a fight right then and there.

Everyone fighting in the Chamber had something to say, though, starting with Rhodes and then running through Randy Orton, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans and finally LA Knight.

Things got physical when LA Knight hit Williams, starting a fight between the two of them. Orton then delivered an RKO on the 21-year-old Evans, who had just said he was going after The Viper's record as the youngest WWE world champion, accomplished at 24 years of age.

As for Uso, he had qualified for the Elimination Chamber last Monday when he won a Triple Threat match against Bronson Reed and El Grande Americano.

Per Raw play-by-play announcer Michael Cole, Reed suffered a torn distal bicep and will be out indefinitely. Uso later won the match with a spear-Uso Splash combo.

That set him up for the Elimination Chamber appearance, but the attack took him out of action.

Aldis set up a qualifier match between Logan Paul and Jacob Fatu, both of whom asked to be considered for Uso's spot.

The Paul-Fatu match closed SmackDown. In the end, Paul won with some help from McIntyre, who attacked Fatu with his championship belt while the referee was distracted.

Paul is now the sixth and final entrant in Elimination Chamber, and questions still remain regarding who attacked Uso.
