Paul Pierce, Breanna Stewart, More Star in McDonald's All-American Game Doc 'Meal Ticket' Trailer
Prime Video dropped a trailer for its upcoming documentary profiling the famed McDonald's All-American Game.
Meal Ticket recounts the history of the annual showcase and its significance within prep basketball. The cameras were also rolling at the 2022 and 2023 installments to provide a deeper look at what happens behind the scenes.
Paul Pierce, Breanna Stewart, Candace Parker, A'ja Wilson, Blake Griffin and Grant Hill are among the McDonald's Game alumni interviewed for the documentary.
A generation ago, it was much more difficult to get a glimpse at the best high school players in the country. Highlight reels weren't circulating online, and networks weren't broadcasting highly anticipated games.
The McDonald's All-American Game was basically your first and only opportunity to see that 4- or 5-star recruit who was generating a ton of buzz and maybe even picked your favorite school.
While that element is gone, the event remains a star-studded occasion, and being a McDonald's All-American is still a coveted distinction.
Duke's Cameron Boozer, BYU's AJ Dybantsa and Kansas' Darryn Peterson were among the prep standouts in the 2025 boys All-American Game. The girls edition included USC's Jazzy Davidson, Oklahoma's Aaliyah Chavez and LSU's Grace Knox.
