NFL Rumors on Isaiah Likely Reveal Several Teams 'Very High' on Contract for TE in NFL Free Agency

Scott PolacekFeb 25, 2026

There will reportedly be plenty of competition for tight end Isaiah Likely this offseason as he hits free agency.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Wednesday that "several teams" said they are "very high" on the playmaker and see him as a potential No. 1 tight end after he never played more than 60 percent of the snaps in a single season during his time on the Baltimore Ravens.

Likely often found himself splitting time with three-time Pro Bowler and veteran Mark Andrews, so it isn't surprising he was never the surefire top tight end in Baltimore.

He was also part of an offense that often relied on the rushing attack with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, which cut into the opportunities in the aerial attack. Throw in the wide receivers such as Zay Flowers, and there were only so many targets to go around for the tight end.

Still, he flashed his talent at times, including in 2024 when he posted career-highs in receptions (42), receiving yards (477) and touchdown catches (six) after finishing the 2023 campaign with five touchdown catches.

He wasn't quite as productive last season with 27 catches for 307 yards and one touchdown, but that was also partially a result of his role in the offense.

Likely is just 25 years old and has the combination of size and athleticism to pose matchup problems for opposing secondaries. He can beat linebackers down field and use his physicality when matched up against safeties, which gives his quarterback a number of options when he is lined up in the middle of the offense.

Given his age, Likely is someone who could remain productive for years to come. It may take a change of scenery and bigger role to make that a reality after he was more of a secondary contributor in Baltimore, which makes him an intriguing free agent this offseason.

And there are reportedly plenty of teams that would like to provide him with that change of scenery.
