Miami's Rueben Bain Jr. Responds to Arm Length Concerns at NFL Combine Ahead of 2026 Draft

Andrew PetersFeb 25, 2026

While some have raised concerns about the length of Rueben Bain Jr.'s arms ahead of the NFL draft, the Miami defensive lineman believes it's not something teams will be concerned about.

"People keep bringing that up out of nowhere, but no teams brought it up to me, so I don't bring it up either," he said, per ESPN's John Keim. "As long as I just talk the talk and walk the walk, play with technique, nobody actually cares about it."

He added that he'll let his game do the talking rather than his measurables.

"I'm versatile and I got a hot motor," he said. "I could do it at any position, at any time with the best effort, and it's on film, it's not something I'm just seeing."

The junior has arguably done enough to negate any concerns about the length of his arms. In three years at Miami, he recorded 67 tackles and 20.5 sacks, including 9.5 sacks in 2025.

Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department considers Bain to be the No. 2 overall prospect and the top edge rusher in this year's draft class. The latest mock draft from B/R projects Bain to land with the New York Jets, who have the No. 2 pick.
