Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady has faced significant criticism for his recent comments regarding WWE, but world heavyweight champion CM Punk offered a different perspective this week.

During a recent appearance on the Impaulsive podcast with YouTuber and WWE Superstar Logan Paul (h/t Boston.com's Khari A. Thompson), Brady argued that NFL players are better athletes that pro wrestlers:

"It's cute," Brady said. "I love WWE. It's very cute. But, honestly, this is like real football, real competition."

While some WWE Superstars took issue with what Brady said, Punk is not among them.

Appearing this week on ESPN's UnSportsmanLike podcast (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), Punk suggested that he was fine with Brady's characterization of WWE.

"Tom Brady said WWE is cute," Punk said. "What's wrong with cute? Why is everybody getting so upset about it? Tom said WWE was cute — I don't know why everyone's got an attitude about that. Cute's good, right? There are people who watch the NFL too, where men wear tight tights."

Punk previously expressed a similar sentiment in a video posted by Sports Illustrated last week:

Neither Punk nor WWE champion Drew McIntyre took Brady's opinion personally, but Paul Heyman and Oba Femi did have some choice words for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Heyman credited tight end Rob Gronkowski and head coach Bill Belichick for Brady's success with the New England Patriots, while Femi added, "For those who think it's cute and it's fluffy and it's all sweet and stuff, you can come and try, you can lace up some boots and then let's watch you puke."

It doesn't seem as though Brady has any intention of entering the world of pro wrestling, but if he ever does, it doesn't sound like he would have an enemy in Punk.

Oba Femi Talks Potential Match vs. Lesnar

Paul Heyman announced during Monday's episode of Raw that Brock Lesnar is laying down an open challenge for WrestleMania 42, and there is at least one rising star who seems open to accepting it.

During an interview this week with Lucha Libre Online (h/t Upton), former NXT champion Oba Femi was asked about potentially having a match against Lesnar.

Femi suggested that it is up to Lesnar whether or not the match happens, saying, "Listen, whenever Brock is ready for the challenge, he knows where to find me. I'm on the roster. He's still an active member of the roster. He knows where to find me. Let's make it happen. Big money. Take my money."

The Ruler is one of the few members of the WWE roster who can stand toe to toe with Lesnar physically, so there is no question that a match between them would be intriguing.

WWE seemingly teased it during the men's Royal Rumble match when Lesnar and Femi had a stare-down, and Lesnar later eliminated Femi from the match.

Femi is still new to WWE's main roster, and he could use a signature win to fully establish himself. Beating the Beast Incarnate on the Grandest Stage of Them All would undoubtedly qualify.

On Raw, Heyman laid out all of the appearances Lesnar will make between now and WrestleMania, and he challenged anyone in the locker room to step up and take the risk of clashing with Lesnar at WrestleMania.

It isn't clear if Lesnar's opponent will be announced ahead of time or remain a mystery until WrestleMania, but Femi feels like he may be the ideal choice regardless.

Reported Details Behind Styles' WWE HOF Announcement

AJ Styles reportedly found out he was being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026 at the same time as the fans who were watching it.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), the Hall of Fame announcement to close out Monday night's episode of Raw was a "legitimate surprise" to Styles, as he was not told beforehand.

Raw was held in Styles' home state of Georgia, and it was billed as a celebration of his career.

The episode closed with Styles giving a speech in the middle of the ring and leaving his gloves and vest on the canvas to signify that he is indeed retired after losing to Gunther at Royal Rumble.

That led to several past and present wrestlers emerging from backstage to clap for Styles and show their appreciation for him.

The Undertaker was the last to come out, and he rode his motorcycle to the ring before addressing AJ. After initially teasing a potential match or fight between them, The Undertaker revealed the big news of Styles' Hall of Fame induction.

The Phenomenal One had a big smile on his face, and he embraced his family in the ring as Raw went off the air.

Many were seemingly skeptical about Styles actually retiring after the loss to Gunther, but everything the 48-year-old veteran has done and said since then suggests he is legitimately done with wrestling.

His induction into the WWE Hall of Fame is further proof of that, and it is a greatly deserved honor that he earned over the course of a lengthy career in WWE and other promotions across the globe.
