Chloe Kim Reflects on Myles Garrett's Viral Jacket, Winning Silver Medal Despite Injury in Video

American snowboarder Chloe Kim said Tuesday that seeing her family, her boyfriend Myles Garrett and rapper Snoop Dogg wear jackets printed with her face during the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics helped her deal with stress on her way to winning a silver medal in women's snowboard halfpipe.

"It just made a really intense, stressful moment so light, and kind of grounded me," Kim said Tuesday on CBS Mornings. "Just to remind me why I'm here to begin with.

"It's always been my support system, my family. Myles has been in my life for a little over a year now, and he's been the most amazing, supportive person in my life."

Garrett and Snoop Dogg were both seen in custom winter gear featuring photos of Kim ahead of the women's halfpipe final on Feb. 12 at Livigno Snow Park.

Kim scored an 88.0 on her first run before wiping out on her final two attempts.

She still sat on top of the leaderboard until the final run, when 17-year-old Choi Gaon of the the Republic of Korea scored 90.25 to claim gold.

Kim was dealing with an injury throughout the Olympics after tearing the lining of her left shoulder in a January crash.

"The thing about the labrum injury that's frustrating is, it wasn't necessarily painful, but your shoulder just keeps coming out of place," Kim said Tuesday. "And the minute it happens, there's nothing you can do. You just have to keep putting it back in. And I didn't have time to get surgery, which is the only way to repair."

Kim said heading into the Olympics without being able to repair the injury meant adjusting some of the tricks she had planned to use on the halfpipe in Italy.

"I had a shoulder brace on that restricts a lot of the movement, and so I wasn't able to raise my arm," Kim said. "I couldn't move my arm much at all. And so I kind of had to relearn how to do a lot of my tricks, because a lot of my tricks require me to use my arms. And I had to figure that all out in eight days."

As of Tuesday Kim had yet to undergo surgery on her shoulder injury, which she said would necessitate keeping her arm in a sling for six weeks.

Kim, who will turn 26 in April, has yet to confirm if she plans to return for another Olympic run in 2030. She said in a Monday appearance on the TODAY Show she needed to "go on vacation first" before making any decisions about the French Alps.
