New NFL Draft Rumors Uncover Browns' Willingness to Trade Down from No. 6 Overall Pick
The Cleveland Browns own the No. 6 pick in this year's NFL draft, but it sounds like they'd rather flip the selection for a massive trade haul.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported on Tuesday that the Browns "will explore another blockbuster trade down in the draft" from the No. 6 pick, similar to how they traded out of the No. 2 spot in last year's draft.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry surprised many across the football world with his draft-day trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year. Cleveland moved down from No. 2 to No. 5 while adding second- and fourth-round picks in 2025 and an extra first-rounder in 2026.

The Jags used the No. 2 pick to select two-way star Travis Hunter, who was limited to just seven games as a rookie after suffering a season-ending torn LCL. The Browns' haul from last year included defensive tackle Mason Graham with the No. 5 pick and running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the second and fourth rounds, and Cleveland will own Jacksonville's No. 24 pick in this year's draft.
Cabot explained that the Browns' ongoing rebuild could push the team to continue adding assets, rather than standing pat with their current selections.
"The Browns are admittedly in rebuilding mode and can use all the high picks they can get," Cabot stated. "The trade with the Jaguars enabled them to completely transform their running game while adding the best defensive tackle in the 2025 class. If they choose as wisely at No. 24 this year, or use the pick as trade currency, they'll be in great shape with the young core of the team."
