Mike Coppinger of Ring Magazine first reported the news:

"Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history," Pacquiao said in an official release. "The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines."

Mayweather simply predicted "the same result" as the first fight when he won by unanimous decision.

Mayweather, who went 50-0 during his professional boxing career and won 15 major world championships over five weight classes, revealed on Friday that he will be coming out of retirement. He first has an exhibition match with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson lined up.

"I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing," Mayweather revealed in a written statement to ESPN's Andreas Hale. "From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards -- no one will generate a bigger gate, have a larger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event -- then my events. And I plan to keep doing it with my global media partner, CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS."

Mayweather, who turns 49 years old on Tuesday, hasn't fought professionally since Aug. 2017, when he took down former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor. He has fought in some exhibition matches since then, however.

The 47-year-old Pacquiao is the only eight-division world boxing champion in the sport's history, and he sports a stellar record of 62 wins, eight losses and three draws. He previously retired in Sept. 2021, one month after losing to Yordenis Ugás by unanimous decision.

However, Pacquiao is now out of retirement, and his first post-retirement fight occurred last May when he faced Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight championship.

The two fought two a draw. Two judges scored the fight 114-114, while one judge had Barrios winning 115-113.

Mayweather and Pacquiao previously fought in May 2015, with Mayweather earning the win with scores of 118-110, 116-112, 116-112.

Now they'll fight again.

Until then, Mayweather is set to face Tyson on April 25 in the Democratic Republic of The Congo, per Coppinger. Pacquiao is fighting Ruslan Provodnikov in a 10-round welterweight exhibition on April 18 in Las Vegas.
