Lindsey Vonn Calls Out Critics Who Called Her 'Selfish' in IG Photo After Leg Injury at Olympics
American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn is reflecting on her successful comeback season as she continues recovering from the crash that ended her run at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.
Vonn discussed her season in a Saturday post on Instagram addressed to people who "said I was selfish and should give my Olympic spot to someone else."
"I just wanted to recap my season for all the haters out there that don't understand what it means to earn your spot, and on a more positive note, to just reflect," Vonn wrote.

Vonn went on to list her accomplishments during the 2026 season, including top-three FIS rankings in both the downhill and Super G.
She also pointed out her two wins and seven podium finishes in the eight races she completed in 2026.
"It's not impossible until it's done. I didn't reach my ultimate goal…. But I still did a lot," Vonn wrote.
Vonn originally retired in 2019 due to injuries, then underwent total knee replacement before announcing her return to competition in November 2024.
She and Mikaela Shiffrin were the first Team USA alpine skiers to officially join the Milan Cortina roster in December due to their position in the FIS rankings.
Vonn, who has undergone multiple surgeries in both Italy and the United States since suffering a complex tibia fracture in her Feb. 8 crash, shared images of the plates and screws now installed in her left leg in a Friday post on Instagram.
She noted in that post that she had been "struggling a bit post op" due to "the extent of the trauma" and would share more information about her injury in the near future.
