Slovakia vs. Finland Men's Hockey Pick

2 of 3
IHOCKEY-OLY-2026-MILANO CORTINA-MEN-CAN-FIN

Finland gave Canada all it could ask for Friday, leading the Olympic favorites 2-1 into the third period before succumbing to their opponents' elite skating and scoring.

Saturday, the Finnish squad has the potential to put that disappointment behind them and take their place on the podium as they face a Slovakian team fresh off a blowout loss to the Americans.

Finland proved capable of clamping down on defense, arguably their strongest area of play. They have not allowed more than three goals in four of their five Olympic games, including against a Canadian team with the firepower of Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon.

Slovakia has a ton of fight and could pull off the upset, but Finland has the better team on paper, has more offensive manpower, and should be able to capitalize on any looks the opposition provides and take advantage of them with a goal or two.

It will not be a high-scoring affair, but look for Finland to follow up its strong play against Canada with a medal-winning performance.

Prediction: 3-0, Finland

USA vs. Canada Women's Curling Pick

3 of 3
CURLING-OLY-2026-MILANO CORTINA-CAN-SWE

The Canadians entered these Olympics expected to take home the gold medal. They were ranked the best team in the world and many thought it would be a relatively easy path to the podium.

Uneven showings in the round-robin portion of the tournament gave way to a semifinal loss to Sweden that left Team Canada vying for a bronze medal in what is their last chance to ensure they do not leave Milan empty-handed.

Waiting for them is the United States, a longtime rival in all sports and a team that has over-performed.

Even in Saturday's match, the Americans are way outmatched and should be considered the big underdog against a team with greater experience. With that said, this United States team did upset Canada in the round-robin tournament, which begs the question: do they have it in them to pull off one last upset and send their opponents home medal-less?

Prediction: Canada wins bronze in a closer-than-expected match-up
