Morata Out for 30 Days

Wednesday, August 5

The Serie A champions reported the extent of the issue on Wednesday, via their official website:

"Alvaro Morata will be sidelined for up to 30 days after suffering a torn soleus muscle in his left calf during yesterday evening's training session. Having departed the workout early, the striker underwent tests today [Wednesday] in Shanghai to reveal the full extent of the damage."

The 22-year-old will be a big loss for the Old Lady as they have the Italian Super Cup against Lazio on Saturday ahead of the start of the new Serie A season on August 23.

Morata netted eight goals in the league last term and played a key role in Juve's run to the Champions League final, per WhoScored.com.

He is a vital attacking outlet for manager Massimiliano Allegri, while summer signings Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic will now have to take up the slack.
