Hype Meter For WWE's Mystery Box, Je'Von Evans and More Trending Topics

As WWE continues on its road to WrestleMania 42, there are plenty of topics to be hyped about to varying degrees.

From the sudden rise of Je'Von Evans to stardom to the mysterious crate straight out of A Christmas Story that was delivered to Raw general manager Adam Pearce backstage on Monday, these are the topics that have fans buzzing.

Just how hyped should they be, though?

Let's take a look.

What's in the Box?

A mysterious crate was delivered to Pearce backstage Monday night, with explicit instructions not to open until February 28 at the Elimination Chamber in Chicago.

While some fans will expect Chris Jericho to jump out of the box like it's 1999 all over again and he is here to save the WWE Universe from boredom, it's likely not him.

Especially after Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported the 55-year-old remains "firmly under contract with AEW" after his deal was frozen upon his hiatus in 2025.

Maybe it is a new arrival for the WWE roster. Perhaps it is tied to the upcoming WWE 2K video game. What if it's a celebrity who will appear at WrestleMania 42?

That the commentary team never mentioned it, and that Pearce had it shipped to SmackDown for Nick Aldis to deal with, suggests that whoever or whatever is in the box probably will not be a massive surprise, so temper your hype level.

Je'Von Evans' Meteoric Rise

Evans cashed his ticket to the Elimination Chamber on Monday in the main event of Raw, the latest accomplishment in a 2026 that has also seen him earn "iron man" status for his lengthy run in the men's Royal Rumble.

Now poised to share the ring with Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and LA Knight on February 28, it is difficult to pinpoint another Superstar with momentum on his side quite like The Young OG.

We have seen scenarios like this before, most notably Montez Ford in 2023, yet little came of it. The difference here is that Evans is an established singles star.

How he comes out of the men's Elimination Chamber match will ultimately determine how successful this early-year push is, but we should be cautiously hyped for now.

Seth Rollins Returning in Time for WrestleMania

Could Seth Rollins be revealed as the man in black attacking members of The Vision? Possibly.

Cageside Seats reported "There's footage making the rounds claiming to be Seth Rollins training recently," suggesting that the former world heavyweight champion may be preparing for a WrestleMania 42 comeback.

While it is unlikely Rollins is the guy under the mask on Raw every week, the mannerisms and body language clearly point to The Architect eventually being the assailant.

If that is the case, your hype level should be through the roof.

Rollins is a top star in a company that needs every one of them it can get for its biggest show of the year, even more so considering recent reports of ticket struggles and emergency meetings to address them.

Having him available for the show is not only good for business, but it also essentially guarantees a quality match for fans, who expect the best at The Showcase of the Immortals.

It is nearly impossible to imagine a scenario with any member of The Vision where Rollins cannot steal the show.

Hype Meter: 8/10, or just shy of the Mojo Rawley meter

Bayley is a future Hall of Famer and one of the most historically significant members of the women's division.

She has also evolved into one of the sport's most influential and inspiring, thanks to her work with the next generation of women's wrestling as part of her Lodestone Wrestling initiative.

For that reason alone, her booking over the last six months has been subpar, to say the least. Her submission loss to Asuka, which sent The Empress of Tomorrow into the women's Elimination Chamber match, was the latest eyebrow-raising creative decision, joining an on-again, off-again partnership with Lyra Valkyria and a dual-personality storyline that was abruptly dropped weeks after its introduction.

A competitor who has won every major title in the industry, including one at WrestleMania 40 in 2024, Bayley has earned the right to have a greater role on WWE programming.

Her prospects for this year's 'Mania are uncertain, and fans should be the opposite of hyped for that.
