The 33-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills and spent four seasons with the team before signing with the Los Angeles Rams ahead of the 2017 campaign.

His best seasons came during his five years in L.A., including two seasons exceeding 1,000 receiving yards, three campaigns with five or more touchdowns and three years with 85 or more catches. He also won a Super Bowl with the Rams in the 2021 season, and his pairing with Cooper Kupp gave the team one of the better one-two receiver punches in football.

He was traded to the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 2022 season, where he spent one year before signing a two-year deal with the Houston Texans.

Woods was then briefly with the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2025 season but was released in late August. He rejoined the team on the practice squad for about a week before requesting to be released. He didn't appear in an NFL game in 2025.
