Breezy Johnson Says She Never Expected Taylor Swift to Celebrate Her Engagement After Olympic Gold
Breezy Johnson got an unexpected congratulations after getting engaged at the Milano Cortina Olympics.
Popstar Taylor Swift commented on Johnson's Instagram post announcing her engagement, something the American skier never could've imagined.
"One of my favorite other lyrics from the song is, 'Where's the trophy? He just comes running over to me,'" Johnson told People's Julie Mazziotta. "The Taylor Swift comment was not something that I ever expected," she continues. "It was really cool seeing her comments, seeing her just love love."
Johnson's fiancรฉe, Connor Watkins, used a ring box with a song lyric from Swift's "The Alchemy" on it. Swift then commented lyrics from the song on Johnson's post.
Swift has a busy few months ahead as she prepares for her wedding to Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, but Johnson said she's welcome to attend her and Watkins' wedding if she has time.
"I mean, listen, Taylor can probably go to any wedding in the U.S. and everybody would welcome her with open arms," Johnson said. "She is of course welcome to join. I do not expect her to have any time to do that, but..."
The ring wasn't the only piece of hardware Johnson left the Olympics with. She also won her first gold medal in downhill skiing.
