Three Americans will go after the medal podium in men's snowboard slopestyle on Wednesday at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Red Gerard, who won slopestyle gold in 2018, headlines the American trio in the 12-man final that will determine a winner over three runs.

Canada's Mark McMorris, a three-time bronze medalist in slopestyle, is considered the favorite in a field with oodles of talent.

Red Gerard is the most notable of the three American slopestyle finalists.

The 25-year-old captured slopestyle gold in 2018 and won the event at the X-Games in 2024 and 2025.

Gerard took third behind Mark McMorris and Markus Kleveland at the 2026 X-Games, which was one the final tune-ups prior to the Milan Cortina Games.

McMorris picked up the bronze medal in each of the three Olympic slopestyle competitions since it was introduced in 2014.

A gold medal in his fourth attempt would be a satisfying feat for McMorris, who qualified for the final in third place behind Kleveland and New Zealand's Dane Menzies.

Beijing silver medalist Yiming Su also resides inside the loaded field. He, Gerard and McMorris are the Olympic medalists in the 12-man final.

Gerard will compete alongside his Team USA teammates Jake Canter and Oliver Martin.

Martin was the top American qualifier in sixth place. Canter was 10th and Gerard was 11th.

Qualifying sometimes does not translate to the final since many athletes are holding back their best tricks for the three runs in the medal round.
