Japan's Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara have looked like the best pair on the ice in these Olympics. They have also been the best pairs skaters over the last four years, too, capturing world titles and setting themselves up to become the first duo win Pairs gold for Japan.

Germany's Minerva Fabienne and Nikita Volodin provide strong competition, but an up-and-down season have left some wondering which duo will show up on Monday, with the gold medal on the line.

Americans Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea are not expected to reach the podium in this event but do not be surprised if they shock some with their performance given how much they were instrumental in the United States' gold medal in the Team Event.

Miura and Kihara are and have been the superior pair throughout this process and regardless of the competition, should conclude their journey with the top prize in their sport.
