Tyler Reddick Talks Michael Jordan's Expectations as Team Owner After Winning Daytona 500

Andrew PetersFeb 15, 2026

Tyler Reddick and Michael Jordan's 23XI NASCAR team kicked off the season with a win in the Daytona 500.

After the win, Reddick said when you drive for Jordan's team, winning is the standard.

"When you're a Cup driver and you get to this level and drive for Michael Jordan, you know, it's expected you win every single year," Reddick said.

While Reddick was able to win his first Daytona 500, it was far from his best day of driving.

"There were many points in this race where we weren't making the decisions we wanted to, but we just reset in every opportunity we got to reset and went back at it," Reddick said. "Just speechless. I didn't know if I'd ever win this race, but it's just surreal, honestly."

He and Chase Elliot were battling for the lead when Elliot crashed, giving Reddick enough room to pull away with the win. He led for just one lap on Sunday.

"It's incredible how it all played out," Reddick said. "Just true Daytona madness."

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Joey Lagano, Elliott and Brad Keselowski finished behind Reddick. The chaotic finish was only fitting after the race saw the lead change hands 66 times, and nobody led more than 39 of the 200 laps.

Reddick, who made his NASCAR debut at Daytona in 2019, is coming off a somewhat disappointing season. He finished ninth in the Cup Series standings after recording just seven top-five finishes and no wins.

Clearly, Reddick has entered the 2026 season with plenty of motivation, and he and 23IX Racing will look to keep their momentum up heading into next week's race in Atlanta.
