Seahawks, 49ers' Brian Fleury Reportedly Agree to OC Contract After Kubiak Exit, Super Bowl Win

The Seattle Seahawks have their Klint Kubiak replacement.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the team is hiring former San Francisco 49ers tight ends coach Brian Fleury to serve as offensive coordinator.

Fleury started his NFL coaching career with the Miami Dolphins in 2013 as a quality control coach for the Buffalo Bills. He joined the Cleveland Browns as an assistant linebackers coach in 2014 and became the outside linebackers coach in 2015.

In 2016 the Miami Dolphins hired him as a football research analyst before he transitioned to the director of football research role (2017-18). He then joined the Niners in 2019 as a defensive quality control coach before operating as an offensive quality control coach (2020-21) and tight ends coach (2022-24).

In 2025 he added run game coordinator to his responsibilities while still coaching the tight ends.

According to The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar, the Seahawks interviewed four internal candidates before hiring Fleury: Run game coordinator Justin Outten, passing game coordinator Jake Peetz, quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko and tight ends coach Mack Brown.

Janocko has since followed Kubiak to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he'll operate as offensive coordinator.

Fleury will be Seattle's third offensive coordinator in as many years. Ryan Grubb only lasted one season in 2024, while Kubiak departed this offseason after Seattle's Super Bowl title. Fleury should offer some continuity from an offensive philosophy perspective, however, making the transition easier:
