NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Ole Miss TE Dae'Quan Wright

Daniel HarmsApr 16, 2026

Ole Miss has a knack for churning out "jack of all trades" type players, and Dae'Quan Wright is the next one to enter the league. He lined up all over for the Rebels' offense and gained valuable knowledge, while displaying the tools to improve as a blocker in the NFL.

A former 4-star recruit, Wright played two seasons at Virginia Tech before hitting the transfer portal and finishing his collegiate career at Ole Miss. He compiled 1,029 yards on 66 receptions with nine touchdowns in two seasons for the Rebels and helped them make a run in the College Football Playoff.

Dan has covered the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL Draft since 2019 while contributing for RGR Football. Most recently, he spent the 2025 draft cycle at The Draft Network and is entering his first season in our scouting department.

Where He Wins

1 of 4
Florida v Ole Miss

— Wright has a versatile skillset and can lineup almost anywhere and offers three-down utility.

— Possesses speed to threaten down the field and pairs it with smart eyes to exploit space as a route runner.

— Adjusts to the football well in the air with smooth body control. Gives the QB an easy target with soft hands.

— Quick to attack space after the catch and quickly identifies soft spots underneath to exploit.

Areas of Improvement

2 of 4
2025 College Football Playoff First Round Game - Tulane v Ole Miss

— Wright lacks power at the point of attack and struggles to maintain and strain blocks in line.

— Must develop a more nuanced and extensive route tree to contribute more in the passing game against man coverage.

— He struggles to fight through contact in his routes and at the catch point, which leads to drops and timing errors.
