'S--t, Yeah, It's Happening,' Mike Tyson Gives Update on Floyd Mayweather Fight

Last September, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. agreed to take part in an exhibition boxing match to take place sometime in the spring of 2026, per a CSI Sports/Fight Sports press release.

Details have been fairly scarce since then, but Tyson confirmed to TMZ Sports Executive Producer Michael Babcock that the fight is still on.

"Yeah, it's happening," Tyson said per an article published Friday, adding, "S--t, yeah, it's happening!"

Tyson also added: "You think I'd give that up?! I was minding my business! He challenged me!"

Tyson previously said the fight would be in March 2026 in Africa.

However, details regarding the date, location and match itself have not been officially been confirmed.

Tyson, who turns 60 years old in June, is a former heavyweight champion. Iron Mike was a dominant and invincible fighter at his best, and he finished his career with 50 wins, seven losses and two no-contests. His last pro fight was in 2005 before he faced Jake Paul in November 2024 and fell via unanimous decision in eight rounds.

Mayweather, 48, went undefeated in 50 fights and won 15 major world championships over five weight classes. He has fought in a series of exhibition matches over the years. His last official pro bout was on Aug. 26, 2017, when he beat Conor McGregor via 10th-round TKO.
