USA Beats Italy, Updated Olympics Women's Hockey Bracket for Quarter-Finals Schedule 2026

The United States cruised into the women's hockey semifinals at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Friday.

Team USA used a five-goal barrage in the second period to become the second team to clinch a spot in the semifinals.

The United States will most likely face Sweden, who also won on Friday, in the semifinal round on Monday.

Finland vs. Switzerland (3:10 p.m. ET)

Kendall Coyne Schofield kicked off the American scoring spree in the second period.

The veteran forward netted a pair of goals just over three minutes apart to give the Americans some breathing room against Italy.

Laila Edwards scored the fourth American goal 26 seconds after Coyne Schofield netter her second tally.

Megan Keller, Britta Curl and Hannah Bilka all added tallies of their own in the blowout victory.

Team USA will most likely face Sweden in the semifinals. The four-team semifinal field gets reseeded after the quarterfinals. That will keep the Americans away from Canada until the gold medal game on Thursday.

Canada plays Germany and Finland takes on Switzerland in the other two quarterfinals that will take place on Saturday.
