Lindsey Vonn Says Tiger Woods Will Win Another Tournament Despite Struggles
Lindsey Vonn is taking the high road. Or slopes.
One of the best female skiers in the world, Vonn was interacting with her fans on Twitter on Monday afternoon when the subject of her ex-boyfriend, golfer Tiger Woods, came up, as a fan asked her if he will ever win a PGA tournament again:
Woods has competed in 10 events since December 2014 and has not sniffed a win. He missed the cut in three separate tournaments, including the U.S. and British Open, and withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open.
His best performance of the season came at the Quicken Loans National, where he was tied for second place after the second round but dropped to a tie for 18th by the tournament's finish.
Regarded as one of the best golfers in the game for the better part of 15 years, Woods has dropped to 185th in the FedEx Cup rankings. He hasn't won a PGA tournament since the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2013.
Vonn, on the other hand, has won three of her last four events, according to FIS-Ski.com, as she has come back from an ACL injury that sidelined her for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
After dating for three years, the two split up in May from what Vonn described as a mutual decision. But it seems the respect is still there, as she continues to support Woods in the toughest stretch of his once-great career.
