"Travis didn't have anything but tremendous things to say about Coach Nags," Dart said.
The Giants announced on Feb. 3 that Nagy was being hired as the offensive coordinator for new head coach John Harbaugh's staff. Nagy spent the past four seasons working with Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs. It was his second stint with the club after a five-season run from 2013 to '17.
Nagy left the Chiefs at the end of the 2025 season following the expiration of his contract. He received multiple head-coaching interviews this hiring cycle, including with the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals.
After his departure from the Chiefs was announced, Mahomes posted a message to Nagy on Instagram: "Thank you coach for everything! Made me a better player and man!"
The 47-year-old Nagy has five seasons of experience as an NFL offensive coordinator, all of them with the Chiefs. He was also a head coach with the Chicago Bears for four seasons from 2018 to '21, posting a 34-31 record with two playoff appearances.
Dart and Nagy will be working together to help the young quarterback build on a promising rookie season. The 22-year-old threw for 2,272 yards, ran for 487 yards and accounted for 24 touchdowns (15 passing, nine rushing) in 14 games.
The Giants are entering their first season with Harbaugh as head coach coming off three consecutive years with at least 11 losses. They have lost double-digit games in 10 of the last 12 seasons.
