Chelsea Green Injury Update, Latest on WWE Star and Potential Timeline for Return After Rumors
Two-time WWE women's United States champion Chelsea Green announced the nature of her ankle injury Wednesday.
In a post on Instagram and X, Green shared a mockup of the front page of a newspaper. The post included a photo of an X-ray and the caption, "Ankle breaks; spirit prevails. Nation watched in horror as resilient president finished wrestling match on live TV."

Green suffered the injury last week on SmackDown in a Triple Threat match against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Stratton won the bout to qualify for the women's Elimination Chamber match.
One day later, Green was scheduled to defend the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships with Ethan Page against Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice on AAA on Fox, but Green revealed to Page in a FaceTime call that she could not compete:
La Hiedra stepped in as Green's replacement, but she was unable to defend the titles on Chelsea's behalf, as Iguana and Vice were victorious.
During the aftermath of the loss, Green revealed on X that her ankle was significantly bruised and swollen, and she required the use of a walking boot:
While Green did not offer a timetable for her return or any specifics regarding her ankle other than it being broken, her post on Wednesday did seem to conflict with prior reports.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported last week that Green's ankle was bruised, but not broken.
Meltzer added, "I don't expect her out for too much time."
Now, Green's status is very much in question, especially with WrestleMania 42 only about two months away.
As a former women's U.S. champion and women's tag team champion, Green potentially could have been in the mix to vie for either of those titles on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
However, given the condition of her ankle, it could be a possibility that Chelsea is not cleared to compete in time for the Showcase of the Immortals in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19.
