Fernando Mendoza's Indiana Pro Date Revealed After NFL Combine Decision Amid No. 1 Draft Pick Rumors
NFL teams are going to get a good look at Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza during his Pro Day on April 1.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, "While Mendoza is not planning to do any drills at the NFL Scouting Combine, he is planning to throw at the Pro Day. A big NFL contingent will be expected in Bloomington."
"At the combine, you're throwing to different receivers, it's a whole different thing," Mendoza said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier in February. "And I want to make sure I give my guys the best chance. I want to throw at pro day with my guys, with my running backs and be there with the boys. The combine, I don't think throwing's going to be a priority just because it's such a quick turnaround."

It seems like a pretty safe bet that Mendoza is going to be the top overall pick, either to the Las Vegas Raiders or a team that trades up to land him, so throwing at the combine wasn't going to provide much benefit. Given that the Raiders desperately need to address the quarterback position, it's easy enough to project that Mendoza will be wearing silver and black soon enough.
The 22 year-old threw for 3,535 yards, 41 touchdowns and six interceptions this past season, winning the Heisman Trophy while leading the Hoosiers to a perfect season and national championship.
