Will Campbell's Future as Patriots' LT Revealed by Mike Vrabel After Super Bowl 60 Loss

Timothy RappFeb 10, 2026

New England Patriots left tackle Will Campbell struggled immensely during both the playoffs and the Super Bowl, calling into question whether he might be better suited moving to guard in the future.

But head coach Mike Vrabel put an end to that talk on Tuesday.

"We aren't moving Campbell," he told reporters. "He is our left tackle."

Health may have been an underlying factor for some of Campbell's struggles—he revealed he was dealing with a torn ligament he suffered back in Week 12. But he wasn't using the injury as an excuse.

"It comes with the job when you don't perform," he said of the criticisms he faced in the aftermath of the 29-12 loss. "Obviously, I was picked high, paid a lot, so people expect a certain thing, and I expect more myself. So whenever I don't perform, I don't expect everyone to be like, 'It's okay, buddy.' I mean, obviously it sucks, but it doesn't suck for anyone more than it sucks for me."

Seattle edge-rushers consistently got the better of Campbell. He gave up 14 pressures and a sack, leaving quarterback Drake Maye with very little time to operate in the pocket throughout the contest.

The young quarterback also gave Campbell a vote of confidence.

"It's a pleasure going out there with Will every time," he told reporters. "He's gonna be a great player in this league. He already is a great player in this league."

And he will be doing so at left tackle.

"You get judged. You get scrutinized," Vrabel told reporters. "Will's 22 years old. He's our left tackle. He'll get better. He'll get stronger. Moments where he played well, moments where he blocked a guy, there's plays he'd like to have back, but we're not moving Will to guard or to center or to tight end or to anywhere else."
