NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Oklahoma IOL Febechi Nwaiwu

Brandon ThornFeb 13, 2026

Febechi Nwaiwu is a stoutly built interior line prospect whose marginal movement skills are offset by good length, strong hand usage and sharp processing that allows him to occupy blockers and play faster than his athletic profile suggests. With A+ character reviews, he projects as a rosterable interior option who's capable of carving out a multi-contract NFL career, especially at the pivot.

Nwaiwu is a 6'4", 319-pound interior line prospect who walked on to North Texas as an unranked recruit in the 2021 class before transferring to Oklahoma in 2024.

The former Sooner started 45 career games split between North Texas (19) and Oklahoma (26), primarily at right guard. He made additional starts at right tackle and center.

Nwaiwu earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2025. He also won Oklahoma's Don Key Award, described as the program's "highest annual honor," and the Pat Tillman Award at the Shrine Bowl, which recognizes "intelligence, sportsmanship, and service."

Where He Wins

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OCT 11 Allstate Red River Rivalry Oklahoma vs Texas

— Proactive hand usage with snap on contact and strong grip strength to latch and control defenders.

— Most effective against tight shades and head-up rushers, where early, meaningful contact allows him to clench, anchor and shut down countermoves.

— Lunchpail run-blocker whose stout build, strong hands and consistent strain show up when he's covering up, uprooting and overtaking defenders on combos and double-teams.

— Alert, disciplined processor with clear eyes to quickly identify and pass off line games and stunts.

— Renowned character, reputation and coachability at Oklahoma.

Areas of Improvement

— Marginal lateral quickness and redirect ability limit his range and recovery.
