Olympic Ice Dancing Results 2026 Rhythm Dance Top Scorers, Highlights

Joe TanseyFeb 9, 2026

Madison Chock and Evan Bates have a bit of work to do to claim their coveted Olympics gold in ice dance.

The American duo finished second in the short program on Monday in Milan.

Chock and Bates aren't far off the lead going into Wednesday's free skate, though, as they are less than a point behind the French pair of Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron.

Ice Dance Short Program Results

  1. Laurence Fournier Beaudry/Guillaume Cizeron (France) - 90.18
  2. Madison Chock/Evan Bates (USA) - 89.72
  3. Piper Gillies/Paul Poirier (Canada) - 86.18
  4. Lilah Fear/Lewis Gibson (Great Britain) - 85.47
  5. Charlene Guignard/Marco Fabbri (Italy) - 84.28

Monday's results were a bit surprising given how high of a standard Chock and Bates have set in ice dance since the last Winter Olympics.

The three-time world champions and two-time Olympic gold medalists in the team event placed second with a score of 89.72.

The American duo is only behind by a small margin, though, as the French pair of Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron scored 90.18 on their rhythm dance routine.

Monday's results set up a dramatic finale to the ice dance event on Wednesday. The medalists are determined by final overall score.

Chock and Bates took first in the rhythm dance and free skate during the team event, so there is plenty of confidence they will top the standings on Wednesday night.

The race for gold is just one of the competitions that will go down to the minor details on Wednesday.

Three pairs are within two points of each other in the hunt for the bronze medal. Canada's Piper Gillies and Paul Poirier hold the slight edge for third after the rhythm dance.

The American duo of Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik sit sixth after the rhythm dance. They'll need a perfect free skate and some help to climb up into third on Wednesday.
