Logan Fano 2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report for Cleveland Browns EDGE

Matt HolderFeb 13, 2026

The Cleveland Browns have reportedly signed Utah EDGE Logan Fano as an undrafted rookie free agent, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Logan Fano has good genes with four uncles (Gabe and Spencer Reid, Teni and Anton Palepoi) who played in the NFL, and a brother, Spencer, who is also in the 2026 draft class as a projected first-round pick.

Logan is a draftable prospect in his own right due to his combination of size and strength to be a solid run defender and power rusher on the edge.

The 6'5", 260-pounder began his college career as a 4-star recruit in the 2021 class at BYU. He never played for the Cougars because he served a Mormon mission and then transferred to Utah ahead of the 2023 season.

During his first year with the Utes, Fano played in five games with three starts and collected 14 tackles, four tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, a pass defended and a forced fumble. However, a torn ACL prematurely ended his campaign.

In 2024, the Spanish Fork, Utah, native made a full recovery and was a regular starter, racking up 35 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, a PD and a FF over 12 games. He became a second-team All-Big 12 selection with 44 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, 4.5 sacks and two PDs this past season despite missing one contest for "precautionary reasons."

Where He Wins

2 of 5
Cincinnati v Utah

- Has solid size and frame for an NFL edge defender.

- Decent get-off. Reacts to the snap well and has solid acceleration off the line of scrimmage.

- Quick to get his hands up against the run and takes on blocks with good pad level and a wide base. Also has solid upper-body strength to get extension on blocks and help overcome the lack of arm length as a run defender.

- Has no problems defeating blocks against tight ends and can set the edge against average offensive tackles.

- Strength allows him to keep offensive tackles off his body as a pass-rusher. Decent at collapsing the pocket against offensive tackles when bull rushing.

- Has a solid long-arm move that he can win with. Has shown a good countermove off it by engaging with the long arm to get tackles to stop their feet, then using his quickness to win around the edge.

Areas of Improvement

3 of 5
Colorado v Utah

- Older prospect who will turn 24 before the end of his rookie season, limiting his ceiling for some teams.

- Very short arms for an NFL edge defender.

- Lacks the athleticism, movement skills and use of hands to be a threat to win with finesse moves as a pass-rusher in the NFL.

- Likes to work a spin move but doesn't knock the offensive lineman's hands down first or gain ground laterally. Ends up just twirling in place instead of winning around the edge.

- Poor bend, which impacts his ability corner at the top of the rush, cover bootlegs effectively or work flat down the line of scrimmage when unblocked against the run.

- Often gets reached or cut off on the back side of zone runs due to subpar block recognition and agility.

- Struggles to sink his hips and anchor when trying to set the edge against good offensive tackles or when down blocking.

- Isn't strong enough to consistently stack and shed versus NFL offensive linemen.
