Cam Awesome Handles Taylor Swift Fame by Reminding Fans He Was Rick James First

Cam F. Awesome, the most accurately named man in modern boxing, has had plenty to digest since declaring himself "not not the Taylor Swift of boxing" during a post-fight interview at the 2015 Pan American Games in July.

The interview earned Awesome national headlines, because you don't hear a grown man/super heavyweight boxer declare himself the female pop superstar of his sport every day.

Awesome gave a few more interviews as a result, going on ESPN's Highly Questionable on Monday and speaking about his life as a boxer.

This is all very high-profile stuff for Awesome, and his friends are concerned the fame might change him.

Don't worry about that, guys.

Awesome posted an Instagram picture on Tuesday telling friends he knows exactly who he was before becoming the Taylor Swift of beating up large men. He was the Rick James of messing up yo' couch.

Nothing has changed, everyone. Cameron F. Awesome was born a star.
