Kenneth Walker III Reveals Super Bowl MVP Showing Was Dad's 1st Time Seeing Seahawks RB Play in NFL

Scott PolacekFeb 9, 2026

Kenneth Walker III's father picked quite the time to attend his first NFL game.

"My dad, he comes out to Seattle all the time to watch games, but he never goes to the games because he doesn't like crowds," the Seattle Seahawks running back told reporters after leading his team to a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Sunday's Super Bowl.

"It's his first NFL game, and we won a Super Bowl. It means a lot to me, I know he's proud of me."

Walker also said his agent was the one who convinced his father to attend the contest.

All Walker did for his father's first game was win the Super Bowl MVP.

He ran for 135 yards and then added two catches for 26 yards as part of the passing game. His production was the only offensive bright spot for either team in the first half as the Seahawks took a 9-0 lead into intermission without a single touchdown.

In fact, the first touchdown of the game didn't come until the fourth quarter.

Walker also would have had a touchdown in that fourth quarter if his long run wasn't called back for a penalty, but he did more than enough to carry the Seattle offense even without the extra individual production after the game was already well in hand.

His performance capped off an incredible playoffs from an individual perspective.

The Michigan State product ran for 116 yards and three touchdowns in the Divisional Round win over the San Francisco 49ers and then tallied 111 yards and a score from scrimmage in the NFC Championship Game victory over the Los Angeles Rams.

With Zach Charbonnet sidelined by injury, Walker was almost the entire Seattle rushing attack for much of the playoffs.

But he showed the crowd, which included his father, that he was more than enough to lead the way on football's biggest stage Sunday.
