Patriots' Drake Maye Breaks NFL Playoff Record for Most Sacks Taken, Whose Record Did He Top?
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye made some unfortunate history during the team's clash with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX.
Maye was taken down behind the line of scrimmage by Seahawks outside linebacker Derick Hall and lost the football in the third quarter of Sunday's contest, representing the 20th time he's been sacked throughout New England's playoff run.

He broke the record previously held by Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow for the most sacks taken in a single postseason run in NFL history. Burrow was sacked 19 times during the playoffs as the Bengals made a Super Bowl appearance in his 2021 campaign.
Maye wound up getting sacked six times in the Patriots' 29-13 loss, putting him at 21 for the postseason.
While Maye could have found a few ways to get the ball out faster in the postseason, it's hard to place most of the blame on him. He's faced the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers and Seahawks throughout his first playoff run.
Those teams owned four of the top nine scoring defenses during the regular season, with Seattle and Houston ranking No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.
In three playoff games prior to Sunday's matchup, Maye completed 55.8 percent of his throws for 533 yards and four touchdowns to go along with two interceptions. He also rushed for 141 yards and a score.
Maye is coming off a stellar regular season, finishing No. 2 in MVP voting.
He completed 72.0 percent of his passes for 4,394 yards, averaging 8.9 yards per attempt. Maye also tossed 31 touchdowns while getting picked off eight times.
Despite the strong overall season for the 23-year-old, he hasn't been able to escape pressure as often in the playoffs.
