Olympic Hockey 2026 Results, Highlights for Sunday Groups Ahead Women's KO Bracket
Six of the eight teams are confirmed for the women's hockey knockout round at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Sweden booked its spot in the quarterfinals with a win over France in one of Sunday's two games in Milan.
Czechia was victorious in Sunday's lone Group A contest. The Czechs moved into second place in Group A, which also features the United States and Canada.
There are three days left of competition in the women's hockey group stage. Most of the matchups take place on Monday and Tuesday.
Group A
1 of 2
1 United States (2-0; 6 points)
2. Czechia (1-1; 4 points)
3. Canada (1-0; 3 points)
4. Switzerland (1-1; 2 points)
5. Finland (0-2; 0 points)
Sunday's Result
Czechia 2, Finland 0
Czechia produced its first win of the women's hockey tournament on Sunday.
The Czechs used goals from Tereza Pistekova and Natalie Mlynkova to secure the victory and move into second place in Group A.
The performance was a step in the right direction for the Czechs, who lost big to the United States and fell in a shootout to Switzerland.
Sunday's victory is most important for seeding out of Group A. Czechia now has four points ahead of a likely defeat to Canada on Monday.
Switzerland can still jump Czechia in the standings, but for now, the Czechs are in position to come out of Group A in third place behind the United States and Canada.
All five Group A teams advance to the knockout round, but the group order matters for seeding in the knockout round.
Canada plays Czechia and the United States takes on Switzerland in Monday's Group A games.
Group B
2 of 2
1 Sweden (3-0; 9 points)
2. Germany (1-1; 3 points)
3. Italy (1-1; 3 points)
4. Japan (1-1; 3 points)
5. France (0-3; 0 points)
Sunday's Result
Sweden 4, France 0
Sweden booked its position in the knockout round with a 4-0 win over France.
Four different scorers found the back of the net in Sweden's third victory of the tournament.
Thea Johansson opened the scoring. Sara Hjalmarsson and Hanna Thuvik followed with tallies of their own in the opening 20 minutes.
Lisa Johansson added a fourth goal for Sweden early in the second period to close out the win.
France, the weakest team in the tournament, was unable to muster much of a threat in comparison to the Swedes. Sweden outshot France 49-14.
France is still technically alive to reach the knockout round, but it is unlikely that it beats Germany in its final Group B game.
Germany needs the win over France on Monday to keep pace with whichever emerges victorious between Japan and Italy.
The top three teams from Group B advance to the knockout round alongside all five teams from Group A.
